If you have some sailing experience but want to improve it, we run a session on many Sunday mornings from March to August as you join the club. (Except when we have events on Sundays – see our calendar. Normal racing at 1 on Sundays doesn’t halt the coaching sessions.)
It’s fairly casual. It can provide time in the water for practice, along with tips and coaching before and during sailing.
Timings are = arrive by 10. Rig & change for about 11, then launch. 60 to 90 minutes (more in nice weather, less if poor) and back by 1. That’s so coaches can get back, have lunch, and rig for racing at 2 on Sunday.
If conditions are bad, we have a plan B: dinghy rigging, sail settings, sailing theory, or powerboat sessions. If in doubt, come down and join us.
For the 1st session, we will ask about your experience. We’ll check the wind, then find a suitable boat and help you rig and launch it. We’d recommend for your 1st session that you arrive 9:45 ish to give a little extra time for these chats.
If you have questions, use the contact us form. Select the “Adult training & RYA courses” dropdown.
Once you’ve registered your interest in joining the club on our Spond site, you can book and pay for boats online. This assumes you have prior sailing experience.
