If youve got some prior sailing experience, but want to brush them up as you join the club, we run a session on nearly all Sunday mornings from March to August (except for when we have events on the sunday – see our calendar: normal racing starting at 1 on sunday afternoons doesn’t halt the coaching sessions)
Its fairly casual and can provide time in the water for practice, along with tips and coaching before sailing & whilst on the water.
Timings are = arrive by 10. Rig & change for about 11, then launch. 60 to 90 minutes (more in nicer weather, less if poor) and back by 1 (thats so coaches can get back, have lunch & rig for racing sunday afternoon at 2).
If it is too windy – or foggy – there is a plan B that looks at rigging of the boats in more detail, sail settings, sailing theory or powerboat sessions. If in doubt, come down & join us.
For the 1st session when you turn up, we will ask about your prior experience, check the wind & then find you a suitable boat & help you rig / launch it. We’d recommend for your 1st session that you arrive 9:45 ish to give a little extra time for these chats.
If you have questions, just use the contact us form & select the “Adult training & RYA courses” dropdown.
Once youve registered your interest in joining the club on our Spond site, boats can be booked & paid for online – (assumes youve got prior sailing experience)
