After a winter season at Ladyburn Lake, preparations are now underway to get everything ready at Priors Haven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Season Opening Party \u2013 Friday 13 March<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We\u2019re really looking forward to welcoming members, partners and family to the&nbsp;season opening party and prize giving&nbsp;at the club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Demand for tickets has been high, and it will be great to see so many people together for the first social of the season:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Doors open<\/strong>:&nbsp;7pm<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Food served<\/strong>:&nbsp;7.30pm<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Live band<\/strong>&nbsp;after the prize giving<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Smart casual dress code<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 looking forward to seeing everyone.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Beach Clear-Up \u2013 Saturday 21 March<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Winter storms have taken their toll on the beach at Priors Haven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you can spare some time, please come along to help with the&nbsp;beach clear-up on Saturday 21 March. Help is needed throughout the day, so even an hour or two makes a difference. The more people who lend a hand, the quicker we\u2019ll be ready for sailing again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Have you volunteered for safety boat, committee boat or race officer duties?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As the sailing season begins, please remember to sign up for&nbsp;committee boat and safety boat duties&nbsp;if you haven\u2019t already. Volunteering early makes it much easier to plan racing, sailing and training for everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For&nbsp;2026 we\u2019ll be sharing race officer duties with South Shields Sailing Club&nbsp;on Sunday afternoons as well as Wednesday evenings. It\u2019s great to see that&nbsp;more than half the available slots have already been filled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you haven\u2019t yet submitted your volunteer dates, please take a moment to sign up \u2014 you can <a href=\"https:\/\/tynemouthsc.co.uk\/index.php\/sailing\/sailing-training-calendar-2026\/\">read more here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Safeguarding Officer Update<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The committee is pleased to announce that&nbsp;Catherine Hide&nbsp;will take over as the club\u2019s&nbsp;Safeguarding Officer&nbsp;from&nbsp;Sunday 29 March 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Catherine takes over from&nbsp;Sarah Batchelor, who was formally thanked for her time and commitment in the role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Youth Sailing Returns After Easter<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Youth training will start again&nbsp;after Easter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The club is keen to hear from members with children in&nbsp;Year 5 or above&nbsp;who may be interested in learning to sail but didn\u2019t take part last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">New volunteers who would like to help&nbsp;on or off the water&nbsp;are always welcome. We\u2019re also happy to receive any&nbsp;unwanted children\u2019s sailing kit&nbsp;that you\u2019d like to donate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>A question for members\u2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As the&nbsp;Winter and Frostbite series at Ladyburn Lake&nbsp;comes to an end later this month, we\u2019ll be sending out a short survey to TSC members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We\u2019d like to hear your thoughts on winter sailing and what changes we might consider to improve the experience for more sailors.
