Imagine if we all sailed at once!\u00a0\u00a0The sailing committee have been tossing around a few ideas for getting \u201cmore people sailing more often , more people racing more often\u201d to quote the RYA\u2019s current refrain.\u00a0These include as possibilities<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\" data-mce-mark=\"1\">A pre-race training session on Sunday morning<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\" data-mce-mark=\"1\">Rescue cover for those who want to go and do a bit of pre-race tuning or practice with a training partner on a Wednesday.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\" data-mce-mark=\"1\">Joint sailing with\u00a0South Shields\u00a0on some Sundays.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\" data-mce-mark=\"1\">A review of starting times on Sundays and Fridays<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\" data-mce-mark=\"1\">Some Sunday cruises as last year, including one on Great North Run day. \u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\" data-mce-mark=\"1\">Handicap racing on a Sunday<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\" data-mce-mark=\"1\">Use of personal handicaps<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\" data-mce-mark=\"1\">Different race formats ; more and shorter, pursuits.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\" data-mce-mark=\"1\">Different race courses ; triangle sausage, trapezoidal, windward leeward etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\" data-mce-mark=\"1\">Named \u201cBuddies\u201d: two levels ; a training buddy ( same standard ) and a mentor.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\" data-mce-mark=\"1\">A number of coaching sessions from external coaches which could be Saturday, Sunday or Friday Night. I have already asked the local RYA official to budget for 8!<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\" data-mce-mark=\"1\">However we cannot sensibly decide these in glorious isolation. We need to know your constraints, your wishes, your thoughts about what we do to make next season attractive and accessible for you.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\" data-mce-mark=\"1\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 We need to do this soon to sort out the programme. So we would very much like your presence at a TSC Laser Class<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\" data-mce-mark=\"1\">Meeting to be held on Wednesday January 2<sup>nd<\/sup>\u00a0at 20.00 hrs at the club. ( New Year hangovers should have subsided and if not you can have a \u201chair of the dog\u201d.)
